Futureown - Local Music Player

A music player for your own files. Help and contact. · Deutsche Fassung ↓

The app plays music stored on your iPhone – no subscription, no account, no internet. You bring your own files; the app turns them into a library.

Adding music

There are two ways, and both lead to the same result:

A bar above the list shows how far the import has got, and afterwards how many songs were added. If a song is already there, the app says so and does not add it a second time.

Frequently asked questions

Which formats work?

Anything iOS itself can play – mainly MP3, M4A/AAC, WAV and AIFF. Formats the system does not know (such as OGG, or FLAC in some variants) do not work.

Where are my files?

On import, the app keeps a copy in its own area on the iPhone; your original file stays where it was. The copies are deliberately not visible in the Files app, so nothing the library still needs gets deleted by accident.

Do I need internet?

Never. The app makes no network connections at all – not to play, not to import, not for artwork. It behaves exactly the same in airplane mode.

My songs have no artwork.

Artwork comes from the file itself. Many MP3s carry one embedded; some do not, and then the song stays without a picture. The app deliberately does not search for artwork anywhere.

You can set one by hand at any time: press and hold the song, choose “Edit” and tap the camera button on the artwork. When cropping, you decide which part of the image to use.

What is “Smooth Space”?

A sample song that comes with the app so you can try it out right away. You only get it if you add it yourself in the welcome tour – nothing happens automatically. You can delete it like any other song; its title and artist cannot be changed, though.

The track is an original: “Smooth Space” by MrMusic44, written and recorded by the artist. Its artwork was created with an AI tool.

A song has the wrong artwork.

Then that is what the file contains. Press and hold the song, choose “Edit” and set your own image with the camera button – or remove the existing one with the red cross.

I deleted a song. Is it gone?

Not straight away. Deleted songs and playlists stay in the trash for 30 days (Settings → Trash) and can be restored from there. Only after that – or if you delete them permanently there – is the file removed too.

How do I select many songs quickly?

Tap “Select” and drag your finger down the circles to the left of the artwork. Near the top or bottom edge the list keeps scrolling by itself.

Why do all songs play at the same volume?

The app measures each song once and evens out the volume, so nothing jumps when one song follows another. You can turn this off in Settings under “Volume Normalization”.

Can I watch the introduction again?

Yes: Settings → Help → “Quick Tour”.

Does the app work on iPad or Mac?

This version is made for iPhone. On iPad it runs in the iPhone layout.

Is my library backed up or synced?

No. It lives on this iPhone only. Deleting the app removes it. iCloud sync does not exist yet.

Something not working?

Write to me, and please include your iPhone model, your iOS version, what you did and what happened.

Was ist „Smooth Space“?

Schreib mir. Hilfreich sind dabei: welches iPhone, welche iOS-Version, was du getan hast und was passiert ist.
